A young man was rushed to hospital after a horror motorbike crash in Co Mayo on Sunday evening.
The incident happened on the R312 at Glensisland near Castlebar.
The male motorcyclist in his 20s was seriously injured when his bike left the road at around 7pm.
Members of the gardai, National Ambulance Service and local fire services attended the scene, and the man was brought to University Hospital Mayo.
Traffic diversions were put in place in the area and Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are carrying out an examination this morning.
A garda spokesman said; "Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward. They are particularly appealing any road users with camera footage from along the route at the time to make it available to them.
"Anyone with information can contact Gardaí at Castlebar Station on (094) 903 8200 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111."
And the road remains closed on Monday morning, with traffic being diverted via Glenhest.
An AA Roadwatch spokesman added: "The Castlebar/Bellacorick Rd (R312) remains closed near Lough Beltra following an incident there yesterday (14th). Diversions are in place via Glenhest."
