Young man rushed to hospital after Cork shooting as gardai search for suspect

A young man is in a serious condition after he was shot in Cork on Friday night.

The incident happened in the Blackpool area in the early hours of this morning.

The man, aged in his 20s, was rushed to Cork University Hospital for his injuries which are described as serious but not life-threatening.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
