Young man 'racing on scrambler motorbike' arrested after gardai find 23 small bags of suspected cocaine

Meath gardai arrested a man in his 20's after finding him in possession of 23 small bags of suspected cocaine, amounting to a street value of €770.

The young man was part of a group in the Brú na hAabhainn area of Navan who were "racing around on scrambler motorbikes."

When a garda patrol car approached the group they attempted to evade the officers.

A post on the Meath Crime Prevention Facebook page said: "A foot chase ensued across a field and gardaí caught one of the males involved.

"He was searched and found to be in possession of 23 small bags of a substance suspected of being cocaine."

A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana told Dublin Live: "Gardaí arrested a man in his 20s following the discovery of €770 of cocaine (pending analysis) in Bru Na Habhainn shortly after 4pm yesterday afternoon.

"He has since been charged and is due to appear in Trim District Court on the 21st September."
