Young man left permanently scarred after brutal West Lothian attack by three men

A man has been left serious facial injuries and likely permanent scarring after an attacked in West Lothian .

The 20-year-old victim was walking within George V Park on Whitburn's Baillie Street at around 9.40pm on Friday, April 19 when he was set upon by three men.

He sustained a number of cuts to his face and head during the brutal attack.

He was taken to St John's Hospital for treatment where medics believe he will be left with permanent scars.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses, particularly a group of females who came to assist the man, to come forward to help with their investigation.

Police Scotland's Detective Sergeant Lyndsey Beck said: "We are working to establish the full circumstances of this attack, which has resulted in the victim sustaining a number of facial injuries that are likely to leave permanent scarring. 

"At this time we only have limited information about the suspects and so we'd ask that members of the public who witnessed what happened and can help us identify those responsible contact police immediately."
