Young man in hospital after being shot on his doorstep

A man has been shot in his doorway and taken to hospital for his injuries.

Police have confirmed the man in his 20s was rushed to hospital with ‘minor injuries’ and remains in a stable condition.

Local residents reported hearing a loud bang on Sunday evening August 22 at 11pm with police confirming a man had been shot.

An investigation is underway and patrols have been stepped up in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester where the incident took place.

Police were called to Kentsford Drive in the Bradley Fold area of Radcliffe.

No arrests have yet been made.

Chief Inspector Matt Oxley, of GMP’s Bury division, said: “It’s important for members of our community to know that when disturbances like this occur we take it very seriously and are doing our utmost to prevent any further incidents.

“We have increased patrols around the area and urge members of the public with concerns to speak with our officers.

“We are following numerous lines of enquiry to make sure these offenders are bought to justice as soon as possible.”
