Young man in a critical condition after horror road crash in Co Louth

A 22-year-old man was rushed to hospital after a serious crash on the N2 in Co Louth on Saturday.

The two-vehicle collision happened at 8.20p.m. A motorcycle and a car were involved in the incident.

Gardai have confirmed that a male motorcyclist, 22-years-old, was removed from the scene and taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in a serious condition.

His condition has been described as critical.

The male driver of the car, a man in his late 30s, and the passenger in his car, a man in his mid-60s, were treated at the scene by paramedics.

An examination of the scene was conducted by Garda forensic collision investigators and the road has now been reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.

Any road users who were travelling on the N2 in the area of Edmonstown, Louth on the evening of Saturday, September 11 between 8p.m. and 8.30p.m. and who may have camera footage (including dashcam) are being asked to make it available to Gardaí.
