A man has been arrested after a young man was stabbed in the face and left seriously injured following a horrific incident in Dublin city early this morning.
The arrested man aged in his late 20s was nabbed by Gardai after the victim, also in his late 20s, was stabbed just after midnight outside Busaras near Store Street Garda Station.
The suspect has since been charged and will appear in court at 10.30am on Thursday.
The injured man was rushed to Mater Hospital where he is currently said to be in a serious condition as they treat his facial injuries, Dublin Live reports.
A small blade was recovered at the scene by investigating Gardai.
Gardai are currently detaining the other man in Store Street Garda Station where investigations are ongoing.
A spokeswoman said: "Gardaí have arrested and charged a man in relation to an incident of assault which occurred on Store Street, Dublin 1 in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 11th June 2020.
"Shortly after midnight, Gardaí were alerted to the incident. A male, aged in his 20s, received a number of injuries as a result of the assault.
"He was taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital where he in a stable condition. A small blade was recovered at the scene.
"A second male, also aged in his 20s, was arrested and brought to Store Street Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
"He has since been charged in relation to this incident and will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice (Court 1) this morning, 11th June 2020 at 10.30am."
