Young man found seriously injured in car park of Scots hotel as police launch probe

A police investigation has been launched after a young man was found with serious injuries in the car park of an Edinburgh hotel.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 5am on Saturday after the alarm was raised in the Grassmarket area of the capital.

Police have confirmed that a 22-year-old was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment however his current condition is not known.

Edinburgh Live reports that forensic officers were spotted gathering evidence within the parking area of the Apex Hotel yesterday.

And Police Scotland have confirmed that their probe into the circumstances remains ongoing.

A force spokesperson said: “Officers received a report of a man being found injured within a car park on Grassmarket in Edinburgh around 5am on Saturday, 25 September, 2021.

“The 22-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries.

"Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
