A young man has been found dead at a home in Galway city in "unexplained" circumstances.
The body of the man, in his early 20s, was discovered at his house on Sea Road on Wednesday morning.
His body was transferred from the scene to the mortuary at University Hospital Galway where a post-mortem will take place at a later date.
Gardai say the death is "unexplained" but not thought to be Covid-19 related.
A spokesman said: "The man was found unresponsive at his residence on the morning of Wednesday 29th April 2020 and was later pronounced dead.
"The body has since been removed to the Mortuary at University Hospital Galway where a post-mortem is scheduled to take place at a later date.
"Gardaí are awaiting post-mortem and toxicology results to determine the course of a their enquiries. Investigations are ongoing."
