Young man fighting for life after being hit by double decker bus in Stockport

A young man is fighting for life in hospital after being hit by a double decker bus in Stockport.

The 28-year-old suffered serious head injuries in the collision, which happened near to Woodley train station on Tuesday night.

Police were called to Hyde Road, at the junction with Station Road, just after 7.35pm.

The victim was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

A spokesman for GMP confirmed the driver of the bus remained at the scene to speak with officers and no arrests have been made. 
  
Enquiries are ongoing. 
  
PC Darren White, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "A man is fighting for his life in hospital as a result of this collision and our thoughts are very much with him and his family as he receives treatment.


  
"We are working to piece together the circumstances surrounding this incident and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information or dash-cam footage to get in touch."
