Young man disguised himself as 81-year-old to fly from India to New York with fake passport, police say

A 32-year-old man wore a disguise that added almost five decades to his appearance so he could board a flight with a fake passport, police said.

The man is accused of wearing spectacles, dyeing his hair white and even using a wheelchair in a bid to look like an 81-year-old on the fraudulent document.

He was attempting to board a flight from Delhi to New York, according to the CISF.

"A man named Jayesh Patel reached Terminal-3 of IGI airport on Sunday on a wheelchair posing as an elderly man. He even tricked the initial security check and got his immigration cleared," CISF spokesperson Assistant Inspector General Hemendra Singh told IANS.

Patel's passport was in the name of 81-year-old Amrik Singh (CISF)

"CISF was suspicious about him as his voice didn't match his age. Despite grey hair, his skin seemed to be quite young as there were hardly any wrinkles on his face."

He was detained and handed over to immigration officials, according to CISF.

The passport was in the name of Amrik Singh, with a date of birth of February 2, 1938, according to reports.
