A young man has been charged after a Garda was rushed to hospital following an aggressive Dublin City street fight late last night.
Officers on patrol on Parnell Street were called into action at around 10:45pm when they came across two men brawling with each other.
Gardai quickly intervened but one of the fighters became angry towards the officers and began to resist arrest.
During the incident, one of the Gardai had his hand injured and was rushed to the Mater Hospital for treatment.
Images obtained by Dublin Live shows Garda cars racing to back up the patrol officers during the heavy ordeal.
A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene for public order offences and has since been charged by Gardai.
A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "We have arrested and charged a 22 year-old man for public order offences following an incident on Parnell St in Dublin at approximately 10.45pm last night.
"Gardaí on patrol had come across two men who were involved in an altercation on the street.
"As members spoke to the two men, the 22 year-old man became aggressive towards officers and then resisted arrest."
He added: "During the incident, a Garda member sustained an injury to his hand and subsequently attended the Mater Hospital for treatment Investigations ongoing."
