Young man arrested after Gardai seize over €30k in drugs and cash in South Dublin

A 25-year-old man has been arrested after Gardai seized over €30,000 worth of drugs and cash in South Dublin.

A Garda surveillance operation from the Terenure District Drugs Unit spotted a "significant" drug transaction at around 8:30pm in Rathmines last night involving the man's car.

A stop-and-search of the car led to the discovery of €1,000 in cocaine and €1,000 in cash, and led to follow up searches of two residences this morning.

Gardai went on to discover cocaine with an estimated street value of €27,000, MDMA €2,000 and €14,000 in cash during the course of those searches.

The man arrested is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Drug 1984 at Rathmines Garda station.

Gardai said that investigations are ongoing.
