One man has been arrested after a victim was allegedly kidnapped and driven 100km to a Dublin suburb after he was viciously assaulted in Wexford.
The man in his 30s was said to have been brutally attacked in the scenic area of Courtown Harbour on Thursday last.
Following the beating, he was then bundled into a car and driven 100km up the motorway across the two counties before arriving at Crumlin Village in south Dublin.
An alarm was raised by a witness who alerted officers and a man in his 20s was arrested in connection with the incident and brought to Crumlin Garda Station.
The arrested man has since been released with a file being prepared for the DPP.
A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "We are investigating an assault and false imprisonment that occurred in Courtown Harbour on 16 April.
"A male in his 30s was assaulted and then placed into a vehicle.
"A male in his 20s was arrested a short time later and brought to Crumlin Garda Station.
"He has since been released with a file being prepared for the DPP."
