Young Irish talents Ricardo Dinanga and Glory Nzingo secure moves abroad

Cork City have confirmed that Ricardo Dinanga is joining Coventry City.

Dinanga, 19, had a trial with the Championship outfit at the end of last season and the Sky Blues have offered a two year deal, with the option of another year after that.

The winger made nine first team appearances for the Leesiders, scoring two goals, including a thrilling winner in the FAI Cup against Longford last year.

But he turned down a new deal this season after impressing Coventry, who had to wait for a transfer embargo to be lifted before cutting a deal with Cork.

Coventry under-23s head coach Luke Tisdale said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Ricardo to the Club.

“He is a talented and pacy winger who can play on either flank, who impressed us during his time on trial last season, and is someone we are looking forward to working with and seeing develop.”

Meanwhile St Patrick's Athletic's Glory Nzingo has signed for French Ligue 1 club Stade de Reims.

The highly-rated midfielder was the FAI's under-15s player of the year last year and made his Saints first team debut in the pre-season friendly against Chelsea in 2019.

Nzingo, 16, joined the Saints in January of that year and had success at underage level, winning a under-15 league and cup double in his first season and was part of the club's under-19 league winning squad last Christmas.
