Young Irish boy, 15, who died 'suddenly but peacefully' to be laid to rest

A young Irish teenager is to be laid to rest after he passed away "suddenly, but peacefully".

Killian Burnett sadly died following an asthma attack on Tuesday.

The 15-year-old had been suffering from recurrent asthma attacks over the past year and had been admitted to Temple Street Children's Hospital on numerous occasions.

Killian's family described the youngster as a "cheeky chappie", saying he was like "any teenager".

Tributes have poured in for the teen since his tragic death.

In a Facebook post, the Finglas Youth Resource Centre said: "Absolutely devastated to hear of the passing of Killian Burnett, You will be missed by all of us in the centre. We had some good times some great trips, you kept us on our toes but always had a great smile and never failed to make us laugh. There has been so much loss recently it is important to always remember that staff are available to talk and provide support, we don't have all the answers but we are here to listen. Counselling services are available in the community and the centre so please get in touch."

In an emotional tribute, Killian's brother Aaron said: "Cant believe im actually writing this i kove you more than you could ever know my little twin you were the best little brother anyone could ask for you will always be my little pal killian its not a goodbye its see you soon little bro ill never ever forget you little man".

While his school, New Cross College, said: "As a school community we come together to remember Killian Burnett, one of our 3rd year students who sadly passed away this morning. We are thinking of all his family, and friends at this difficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers."

Killian will be laid to rest on Monday morning following a funeral mass at Saint Oliver Plunkett's Church, Rivermount, Finglas South.

A funeral notice reads: "Predeceased by his grandfather Christy Scanlon. Suddenly, but peacefully, at Connolly Hospital, surrounded by his heartbroken family. Beloved son of Cathy and David and adored brother of Jordan, Aaron, Adam, Leon and David. Killian will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his parents, brothers, grandmothers Kay and Delores, grandfather Thomas, niece Donni, brothers' partners Lauren, Amy and Nadine, aunts, uncles, cousins, fellow students and teachers of New Cross College, neighbours, friends and all who knew and loved him.

"Reposing at his home on Friday and Saturday between 3pm and 6pm (house private on Sunday). Removal on Monday morning to Saint Oliver Plunkett's Church, Rivermount, Finglas South, arriving at 10.50am for 11am Funeral Mass. Thereafter to Glasnevin Cemetery for burial."
