Young girls left orphans after both parents killed in horror motorbike crash

Two little girls have been left orphans after their parents died in a horrific motorbike crash .

Stephen and Janine Mander were killed instantly after their Yamaha motorcycle smashed into a tractor on a rural road.

Devastated friends and family have rallied to support the couple's kids Kirsty and Leanne, Stoke Sentinel says.

Colleagues at JCB in Uttoxter, Staffordshire, where Stephen, 55, worked held a collection for the family.

Janine, 54, was a prison officer at nearby HMP Dovegate.

More than £2,000 has been raised through a JustGiving page for funeral expenses.

It reads: reads: "Both Janine and Stephen were wonderful kind and caring family members of the community.

"These poor young girls have been left with no mother and father and need all of the help and support we can give them.

"We are raising money towards the funeral costs so we really need to act fast to help the poor girls with this burden.

"All of the funds raised will go to Kirsty and Leanne towards all of the expenses."

The crash happened on Sunday March 24 in Market Drayton, Shropshire, police say.

Several witnesses to the tragedy were treated for shock at the scene.

An inquest into the couple's death opened last week and will resume in July.

Police continue to investigate and support family members in Stone, Staffordshire.

Roads Policing Inspector Nigel Webster, of West Mercia Police, said: "Our thoughts are with the family of those who sadly died in this collision.

"We will continue to be offering them support throughout our enquiries at this incredibly difficult time.

"If anyone was on the A41 on the day and has dashcam footage or witnessed the collision we would ask they get in contact with us."
