Young girl taken to hospital after being hit by car in Glasgow's east end

A young girl has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car on Edinburgh Road yesterday afternoon (January 4). 

The female child was hit by a car in the East end at 4.25pm as emergency services rushed to the scene.

The girl was taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children with "non-life threatening injuries" and the road has since reopened.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a road crash involving a vehicle and a female child on Edinburgh Road, Glasgow, around 4.25pm on Monday, 4 January, 2020.

"Emergency services attended and the girl was taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children with non-life threatening injuries. The road was re-opened around 7.40pm.”
