Young girl injured after being hit by car as gardai launch investigation

A young girl received minor injuries after being hit by a car in Laois on Wednesday.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses after the child was struck on a main road in Rahin Wood,Ballylynan at 3:30pm.

Officers are also hoping to speak to the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision.

A garda spokesperson said: "Laois Roads Policing Unit are investigating the circumstances of a road traffic collision which occurred today 16th September 2020 at approximately 3.30pm. It occurred at Rahin Wood,Ballylynan,Co Laois.

"A young girl received minor injuries following contact with a car. Gardai are anxious to speak to the driver of the car,and any further witnesses.
