A young girl has been found wandering an Edinburgh street alone early this morning.
Police were alerted to the child around 9.35am in the Whitson Way area of the capital, sparking a search for her parent or guardian.
The young girl, who's age is unknown, is dressed in an outdoors pink snowsuit and is currently in the care of police in Edinburgh.
Officers are searching to trace her parents and appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
A police spokeswoman confirmed: "There is a large police presence in the Whitson Way area of Edinburgh this morning as officers were alerted to a young child on her own.
"If you have any information, please call officers on 101, quoting incident number 0843 of 19 December 2019."
