Young girl, 16, raped in Glasgow Green as cops investigate

A police investigation has been launched after a 16-year-old girl was raped in a Scots park. 

Emergency services were called to an area of Glasgow Green at around 7.50pm on Saturday after the alarm was raised.

The serious sexual assault took place near East Footway of Kings Drive in the city’s east end, Glasgow Live reports.

A police cordon remains in place today as officers continue carrying out enquiries in the surrounding area.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "An investigation is under way following the serious sexual assault of a 16-year-old female in Glasgow Green on Saturday, 15 August 2020. 

"Police were contacted around 7:50pm. The incident occurred in an area near the East Footway of Kings Drive.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
