Young footballer Adam McCaffrey suffers serious head injury as GoFundMe page set up

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Finn Harps U19 star Adam McCaffrey after he suffered a serious head injury during a match.

McCaffrey sustained the injury last Sunday and was transferred to Dublin for treatment where he'll start rehabilitation in the coming weeks and months.

And the club have established a fundraiser on behalf of his parents to help support his family during the challenging time.

The GoFundMe page said: "On Sunday 12th December 2021, under-19 Finn Harps player Adam McCaffrey suffered a serious sports injury during a football match. Adam sustained a head injury and was subsequently transferred to Dublin for treatment.

"The parents of the under-19 Finn Harps team have come together to set up this page to help support Adam and his family through this very challenging time.

"All donations are greatly appreciated and will support Adam and his family as he starts his rehabilitation over the coming weeks and months.

"Thank you for your support and well wishes."

1992 Donegal All-Ireland winner Tony Boyle took to Twitter to offer his support: "Hope you back on the pitch soon Adam".
