The Birnam Institute was a chilly place earlier this month, not just because of the ventilation measures but due to Perthshire District of JACs performing a spectacular run of The Snow Queen.
A cast of 15 young farmers from the JACs of Bankfoot, Strathearn, Banks of Tay and Aberfeldy had a fantastic week putting on three pantomime performances of The Snow Queen. There were icicles aplenty from Thursday, December 9 to Saturday 11.
The cast enjoyed three months of rehearsals, working with producer Gemma Stewart and an amazing behind the scenes crew.
“Being on stage, performing as a cast together after all that the last two years has seen, was really special,” said district secretary Jillian Kennedy.

“And we were delighted to be able to do so while raising money for the Cornhill Macmillan Centre in Perth. We are still counting what came in for charity.
“The cast and the district committee are very grateful for all the support we have had in the lead up to the shows, including the programme and raffle sponsorship we have received, alongside the backstage team who made everything run smoothly and look amazing, our stewards and, of course, our fantastic audiences each night.”
