New South Australian Liberal leader David Speirs has unveiled his front bench following the party's state election loss, with seven new faces in a younger line-up.

Including Mr Speirs, the 15-strong shadow cabinet features six people in their 30s and some first-term MPs.

Among them, Ashton Hurn will take on the health portfolio while Sam Telfer has local government and regional population growth and planning.

Paralympic swimming gold medallist Matt Cowdrey has been named shadow treasurer but will be supported by Heidi Girolamo who will be the opposition's finance spokeswoman.

"This new-look shadow cabinet is full of passionate, talented and diverse individuals who will drive a fresh vision for the future of South Australia," Mr Speirs said.

"We are united in our goal to make our great state an even better place to live, work and raise a family.

"I firmly believe our team can lead the Liberal Party back to government in 2026 and look forward to us reconnecting with our suburbs and regions to hear what really matters to everyday South Australians."

The opposition front bench does not include former premier Steven Marshall or his deputy Vickie Chapman who has announced her intention to soon quit the parliament.

Also missing is former health minister Stephen Wade and former innovation and skills minister David Pisoni, while four other ministers from Mr Marshall's cabinet either lost their seats or retired at the March poll.

As well as leading the opposition, Mr Speirs has retained the environment portfolio after serving as the state's environment minister in the previous government.
