A woman was the victim of a serious sexual assault this morning in Edinburgh's city centre with the capital's cops police now launching their hunt to find the attacker.
The 29-year-old victim was attack at the junction between Broughton Street Lane and Union Street in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 1 August), with police alerted to the serious assault at around 8.45am.
Cops are urging any witnesses to come forward and help their investigation.

A police spokesperson said: “We received a report of a serious sexual assault against a 29-year-old woman at the junction of Broughton Street Lane and Union Street, Edinburgh.
