This young father was left critically ill in hospital after he suffered serious injuries in a one-punch attack.
The IrishMirror has learned that Adrian Ansbro was knocked down from a single punch – and cracked his head on the pavement as he fell.
Mr Ansbro, a dad of two, was transferred from Co Galway following the attack early on Sunday morning.
The popular electrical contractor was found unconscious in his native Tuam following the attack at Foster Place just after midnight.
Sources have confirmed to the Irish Mirror that he suffered major head injuries in the attack and his condition was so serious that he was later transferred to Dublin’s Beaumont Hospital for treatment.
That hospital is the national specialist unit for the treatment of serious head injuries – which is an indication of how badly injured he was.

Tuam Fianna Fail councillor Colm Keaveney, who knows Mr Ansbro, paid tribute to him last night.
He told the Irish Mirror: “He is a really nice fella and doting father.
“Adrian is a hard working electrician and always carried out his work with a smile.
“He is a popular young man who would instinctively avoid conflict and confrontation. It wouldn’t be in his nature.”
Dozens of messages of support were also left on the social media page of Cortoon Shamrocks, a local GAA club of which Mr Ansbro is a well respected member.
One well-wisher said: “Please God Adrian be OK, thoughts and prayers for all of you.”
It’s understood Mr Ansbro had spent much of Saturday evening socialising with friends when he became separated from them just before midnight.

Sources say gardai believe Mr Ansbro then became involved in an altercation with as many as three young men – one of whom attacked him.
No arrests have been made, but gardai are believed to have identified suspects in the attack.
A spokeswoman appealed for witnesses to come forward last night.
She said: “Gardaí investigating a serious assault on a man that occurred in the early hours of Sunday 11th July, 2021, at Foster Place in Tuam, Co.Galway, are appealing to the public for information.
“The man, aged in his 40s, was assaulted at approximately 12.05am and received a number of injuries.
“He was taken to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where he is currently being treated for serious injuries.

“Gardaí at Tuam are appealing for any witnesses to this assault to come forward to them.
“Gardaí are also appealing to any road users (who may have camera footage) that were travelling in the Tuam town and Foster Place area between the hours of 11.50pm on Saturday 10th July, 2021, and 12:15am on Sunday 11th July, 2021, to make this footage available to Gardaí.
