A young dad has admitted crashing a stolen car while trying to escape from police.
Joshua Moreton, of Grosvenor Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, handling stolen goods and assaulting an emergency worker at Bolton Crown Court.
The 22-year-old, who has an eight-month-old baby, came into the possession of a Vauxhall Corsa on October 28 2019, according to defence barrister Stephen Munton.
On November 1, Moreton was driving the car along Topp Way, when he was stopped by police.
Moreton initially put the car into reverse in an attempt to drive around the car in front him, but instead crashed into a car behind him.
He tried to run away and was then tackled to the ground by PC Ashworth. While resisting arrest, Moreton's braces caught the hand of PC Ashwork and caused a small cut.
Mr Munton told the court that this was not a "deliberate bite down" but rather a consequence of Moreton resisting arrest.
He also described Moreton as "a man of good character".
Judge Timothy Stead adjourned for sentencing on March 5.
He released Moreton on unconditional bail while a pre-sentence report is written.
Judge Stead also imposed an interim driving ban on Moreton.
