A GoFundMe has been set up for a young south Dublin dad-of-four who tragically died last month.
Darragh King from Crumlin died unexpectedly on May 29 with a fundraiser now set up to help support his partner Toni and his kids Courtney, Alex, Skye and Phoenix.
His cousin Aidan Treacy, who is behind the GoFundMe, told Dublin Live that the family are heartbroken but focus now needs to turn to his kids.
He said: "Darragh has four kids, three of which are 12 and under.
"Darragh was one of a kind, at his best he could light any room up and make everyone around him feel 100 times bigger.
"I was lucky enough to reconnect with Darragh 6 months ago and spoke almost daily to him. He had his battles throughout his life but he kept on fighting with the help of his family.
"The one thing I learned over the last 6 months was how much he loved his partner Toni and his kids.
"If there is one thing Darragh would have wanted, it would have been to ensure Toni and the kids were looked after by everyone that loved him."
He added: "Anything you can spare at all it would make such a big different to these kids' lives. Love you cousin and we all miss you so much."
The young man's former club Crumlin GAA were one of the first to pay tribute to a player who wasn't afraid to get stuck into a battle but was always gracious to referees and opposition players.
They said: "We are saddened to hear of the death of one of our former players, Darragh King.
"He will be greatly missed by all here in Crumlin GAA.
"Our thoughts and condolences are with his family at this time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis."
