Young Co Antrim couple involved in fatal crash

A devoted couple has passed away following a two-vehicle road crash outside Ballycastle.

The collision happened on Moygaret Road, Mosside shortly before 5pm on Friday, February 12.

Three people were injured in the collision.

Tragically the young couple who were travelling in one car, did not survive their injuries despite the best efforts of the medical teams at the scene and the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast.

One person was transported to the RVH by air ambulance and one other was taken for emergency treatment by road ambulance, one of them to the  Causeway Hospital, Coleraine.

NIAS dispatched one Rapid Response Paramedic, three Emergency Crews and one Ambulance Officer also attended to the scene.

The road was closed while emergency services were in attendance reopened shortly before 6am today.

A spokeswoman for the PSNI said: "Police can confirm that a man and a woman have died following a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the Moyarget Road, near Ballycastle, yesterday evening, Friday 12 February."
