Young boys 'shaken' after 'suspicious white van man targets them in park'

Three young boys were left "shaken" after a 'suspicious' white van man allegedly targeted them in a park.

The youngsters were playing on the swings in the park off Meadow Avenue in Cross Heath, Staffordshire, when the man demanded they get in his van and started chasing them, it is reported.

Stoke on Trent Live reports the man had earlier been shining his headlights on the boys.

The terrified youngsters managed to flee and a teenage boy came to their aid before parents alerted police to the incident at 6.30pm on Wednesday, October 27.

Now Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses.

A police spokesman said: "We are appealing for information after a man was seen acting suspiciously in the Cross Heath area.

"It is reported that a man got out of a white van and approached three boys in a nearby park off Meadow Avenue.

"The boys were left shaken following the incident."

Witnesses should call the police on 101, quoting incident number 680 of October 27 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
