Young boy 'seriously injured' after tractor incident in Nottinghamshire village

A young boy had to be taken to hospital after his leg became trapped in the mower of a tractor.

The 11-year-old boy was reported to be on the tractor as it was cutting grass in Boat Lane, Bleasby, on Wednesday afternoon, June 2.

He then fell from the tractor and his leg became trapped in the mower.

Police confirmed he was taken by ambulance to the Queen’s Medical Centre where he is being treated for his injuries.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Inspector Clare Gibson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The boy was on the tractor while it was being used to cut grass.

“We believe the young boy has fallen from the tractor whilst in motion and subsequently sustained severe leg injuries for which he is receiving medical treatment.

“An investigation to establish what led to this incident is under way.”
