Young boy rushed to hospital after being hit by lorry in Finglas, North Dublin

A young boy was taken to hospital after a collision involving a lorry in North Dublin yesterday.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Finglas Road at around 2.10pm before taking the boy to Temple Street Hospital.

A garda spokesperson said the child suffered minor injuries and an investigation is ongoing.

He said:"Gardaí attended a single vehicle RTC on the Finglas Road, today 26th September, at approximately 2:10pm.

"A minor was taken to Temple Street Children’s Hospital with minor injuries. Investigations are ongoing."

Locals had expressed their fear and sending their well-wishes to the boy as the news broke yesterday evening.

One said: "Hope the child is OK thinking of the family in my prayers."

Another said: "Please God the child Will Make a full recovery amen."
