Young boy rushed to hospital after being hit by car on Scots road

Police are appealing for information after a young child was hit by a car in Kirkcaldy leaving him hospitalised.

Officers were called to reports of a nine-year-old boy struck by a car on Fair Isle Road at around 4pm on Thursday May 13.

The schoolboy was rushed to Victoria Hospital for treatment. His condition is not known at this time.

Now cops have launched an investigation and are appealing for dash cam footage of the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said :"Officers attended a crash involving a car and a nine-year-old pedestrian which happened at 4pm on Wednesday, 12 May on Fair Isle Road in Kirkcaldy.

"The boy has been taken Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for treatment and enquiries are continuing.

"We would appeal for any witnesses to the incident or people in vehicles with dash cam footage to contact the Police "

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.
