A young boy spotted on the roof of a school sparked calls to police and the fire service.
Emergency services were called to Nugent House, on Carr Mill Road in Billinge, shortly after 1.30pm on Monday to reports of a concern for safety.
The child was on the roof for over an hour after officers and fire crews arrived at the scene.
Road closures were immediately put in place and motorists were advised to stay away from the area.
Police managed to talk the boy into coming down just before 3pm before the roads were reopened.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police told the ECHO : "We can confirm that emergency services were in Billinge this afternoon (Monday 28 September) dealing with a concern for safety.
"At around 1.40pm, officers and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) were called to Nugent House, Carr Mill Road to reports of a young male on the roof of the premises.
"Roads were closed for a short time and the male came down shortly before 2.50pm. All roads have now been reopened."
