Young Ballymun brothers open barber shop to compete with dad's business
Two Ballymun brothers have are opening up a barber shop in the area where their Dad also runs one.
21-year-old Evan Byrne and his younger brother, 16-year-old Calum, are opening their barber shop in Ballymun tomorrow. To celebrate the official opening, there will be an opening party which will feature food for those dropping in.
Inside the business can only be described as slick and playful, with design features including a race car chair for kids getting their hair cut and stylish product displays on the walls.
Cutting Corner Barber's will open just down the road from Cuts & Bruises, which is owned by the lads' dad Stephen.
Speaking to Dublin Live, Calum said that a bit of friendly competition with their Dad is a good thing.
He explained what people can expect from the new barber shop's opening tomorrow.
He said: "It's going to be amazing. We can't wait for it. We've been buzzing for the last few weeks.
"It has taken a while to put it together. We started back in January so it was a long process. But it turned out really well. We're delighted with it.
"We're having an opening day. We'll have food vans down there and hopefully we'll get loads of people in."
While Evan looks after all things hair cutting, Cutting Corner will also feature Copper Creations, a dedicated space for Calum to make his copper lamps, for which he has won awards.
