Young athletes put through their paces at West Lothian athletics camp

A number of budding young athletes were put through their paces at Livingston Athletic Club’s Easter Camp.

Held at Craigswood in Livingston, the camp was aimed at kids between the ages of 5-12 who wanted to have fun during the school holidays and make new friends as well as learning new and exciting skills.

The Run Jump Throw format of the camp focused on fundamental movement skills and helped children learn vital skills they will need as they develop.

Youngsters were introduced to a range of athletic events, basic skills, balance, coordination and speed sessions; the essential elements of all sports.

Although it was based around athletics, the skills acquired can be extremely beneficial to children across a wide variety of sports.

The sessions gave the enthusiastic young athletes the chance to experience a full week of athletics training.

For more information about the club, including details of their term-time sessions which take place at Craigswood, Armadale, Bathgate and Whitburn, visit the club’s website at www.livingstonac.com.
