Young Annandale athletes represent Scotland at the Manchester International competition

A trio of Annandale young athletes have done the region and Scotland proud at an international meeting held over the border last Wednesday.

Annan 18-year-olds Nicole Proudfoot and Danny Gracie represented Scotland at the Manchester International competition, along with 16-year-old Molly Reville from Templand.

Competing for the Scotland U20 athletics team, the three athletes were up against teams from England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and a GB team.

Nicole ran a personal best time in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.38 secs to win the silver medal. Danny also threw a personal best in the hammer, throwing 58.39m which was enough to win a bronze medal, while Molly jumped 5.67m which earned her an excellent 4th place.
