I don’t have facials, really. Not often. Too much time, too much money and too much lying still without being asleep.
You can’t sleep during a meaningful facial and I am not going to clear the time for a rubby, strokey kind of one because I can do that myself. And so sometimes my skin feels congested. And so I sigh and carry on. Because who has time?
I worry, though. I cleanse arduously and rigorously yet suspect that my skin is never squeaky clean. I slap on oils and serums and lotions but question whether they do anything other than just… sitting there. Making me look shiny for a minute and then… what a dull girl. Really I suppose I should book a facial but I refuse. There must be another way. If I can fix the boiler using a YouTube video (I am blushingly proud of this) then surely I can make my face work. I mean, you should see my bathroom counter — it is one hell of a toolkit. Grrrr.
