Easter is one of the yummiest times of the year. With chocolate eggs being given as gifts, hot cross buns enjoyed by many, and a lamb roast likely on the menu, there's so much to enjoy.
If you're the sort of person that eagerly bashes into an Easter egg, smashing it into smithereens on a surface, you're doing it wrong. An expert has shared that there's a better, and less messy way, to devour your Easter confectionary, and it'll mean you can enjoy every last bit.
Karen Owen, Chief Taster and Chocolatier at Wickedly Welsh shared that her favourite way is to smash an egg up as it makes the "perfect size chocolate for snacking on" - but she admitted it's a "messy option."

She said: "You specifically want to apply pressure to the weakest part of the egg, which is typically the side of the egg, where the two halves are joined together.
"Obviously, the harder you tap it on the surface, the easier it will break – but unless you want lots of chocolate flying around, don't go too hard. Start more gently and build up to it.
"That being said, it really does depend on what type of Easter egg you have as not all of them are entirely hollow."
If some of the egg is filled, smashing it on the seam could "run the risk of damaging the filled side, so look to instead tap it on the hollow side towards the top of the egg, not too close to the seams. This may prove a little messier, but you're less likely to damage the goods inside."
And if you're wondering how best to store your Easter egg, Karen thinks it's best to keep the foil rather than binning it.
She said: "Ensure it’s always wrapped up when you're not tucking in for freshness. Also, keep it at room temperature.
"Some people may be tempted to put it in the fridge but this can affect the taste of your egg the next time you go to grab a chunk."
