If you've not yet found yourself on the Olaplex hair train, then there's a good chance you've heard your friends talk about it, or seen it advertised on social media.
Over the last few years, Olaplex products have become a cult favourite for hair care lovers who want to maintain luscious locks all year round, without having to go to the hairdressers.
But, it's no secret that the products aren't exactly cheap In fact, they're a full on investment, but thousands of have credited the brand for resurrecting their dull, damaged and lifeless hair. Some, however, have not found as much success.
That could be all about to change, though, as one beauty blogger has revealed the one mistake that many Olaplex users are making, meaning they're not making the most of the product.

Abbey Yung took to TikTok to reveal that before applying Olaplex No.3 to your hair, you should first be washing it with normal shampoo.
The product is described as 'a weekly at-home treatment, not a conditioner, that reduces breakage and visibly strengthens hair, improving its look and feel,' and is one of the most popular of the entire Olaplex range.
"This is why your Olaplex is not working for you. Shampoo and rinse first to remove build up," Abbey explained in the clip. "Olaplex can't penetrate as effectively on dirty hair."
She added: "Then apply Olaplex and leave in for at least 10 minutes, then rinse, shampoo and condition like normal."
In the caption, Abbey noted that this technique was confirmed by the brand, which certainly seems to be the case seeing as the official Olaplex TikTok commented on the video. Consider our minds blown.
