As COVID-19 cases continue to soar across the country, testing queues have ramped up dramatically.
We asked our COVID live blog readers to tell us their stories about how long they spent in a queue waiting to get a PCR test, or how long they've had to wait to get their results back.
Here's what they said.
Sarah waited in a testing queue for 6.5 hours on the Gold Coast.
"I ended up leaving because I was by myself and I had been there since 6am, I hadn't had any food yet and was feeling so ill sitting in the hot sun.
"There is nowhere to get a PCR test around here that doesn't involve hours of waiting and there are no RAT tests anywhere, it's so sad."
Blog reader BB is pregnant and said not being to get hold of a rapid antigen test (RAT) to monitor her symptoms at home was a "complete mess".
"Got to the front of the queue and then [was] told I had to test positive on a RAT (which they provided) before I could get a PCR.
"Negative on the RAT for now but unable to find any RATs in store to use at home to monitor. It's a complete mess!"
Another reader under the name of Over_isolation said their wife had been waiting six days so far for a test result.
Submitted under the name One of the lucky ones, this person in Brisbane estimated that thousands of people may not be able to get tested on Tuesday.
"Jumped online to discover all [but] the Murrarie drive-through sites were closed.
"Raced over to Murrarie (which is on the other side of Brisbane's city) and waited 2.5 hours to get a test.
"When I left the traffic was queued from kilometres in multiple directions.
"Despite the lovely testing staff working as fast as they can, thousands of people are not going to be able to get tested today."
Another person in Brisbane was turned away from a 4cyte clinic. Irritated said:
"Went back today and waited in line for longer only to be turned away again. Can't get a rapid test cause I can't leave the house to get one.
"So… I'm cranky, sick, and don't want to go back tomorrow for a test."
Woody in Victoria had a similar experience.
"Got there at 6:20am. A huge line already, we waited until 9am. We were just turned away (9:30am) as the whole site is closed.
"Nowhere online did it say closed. We just checked Lilydale and the line is insanely huge and were told a wait over five hours and the place closes in five hours.
Another from Victoria said a testing site had reached capacity at 7am. Frustrated said:
"Five days already in isolation and half my family has tested positive now too so who knows how long we'll be in isolation for.
"Waited three hours in line yesterday at 6am for my second test — site was at capacity by 7am which is when the site opened."
Bonnie in Townsville decided to cancel their trip because of fears of delayed testing results.
"I've decided to cancel my 5 day trip to NSW as I'm too worried I won't get results back on time to re-enter QLD.
"We're all trying to do the right thing, but it's not easy."
On the other hand, Jake had a "pleasant" experience in Flemington.
"I want to share my pleasant experience at the Flemington Racecourse COVID test drive through."
"I got there at 6am, there were about 15 cars in front of me.
"They started letting cars in at 6:30am. They started testing from 7am.
"How good is that? Sorry to those who are waiting days to get a result."
