‘You should’ve been paid for this’: Lesbian goes undercover on Tinder. Then she shares her shocking finds after talking to 1,000 straight men

Some people swipe for love, but this woman swiped for data. A lesbian TikToker is going viral after going undercover on straight Tinder and chatting with over 2,500 men in the name of science (and mild chaos). Her research question? Asking every single man their most controversial opinion.

The results would both shock and disappoint you. She shows her findings on a pie chart straight out of a sociology nightmare—complete with categories like “right-wing takes,” “90s conspiracies,” and “sexual harassment.” Even more telling? Almost none of the men asked her the question back. As one commenter put it best: “This is boots on the ground journalism.”

What did she find on Tinder?

Angelica (@an9ele) is being hailed across the TikTok hemisphere as a woman in STEM after pulling this stunt. With almost 6 million views already, her social experiment is opening the eyes of many. Angelica’s hard research leads her to uploading a video over six minutes long where she dissects every answer she receives and thus converts it into data.

She begins the video by saying, “Hello. I am a lesbian, and for the past several week,s I’ve been on heterosexual Tinder asking straight men, ‘What is your most controversial opinion?’ And now that I have finally decided to conclude this hellscape experiment, I’m gonna be sharing some statistics with you.”

Angelica then pulls up a pie chart and says, “Please note that I am basing this survey on the first 1000 men I spoke with. By the end, after however many weeks I’ve been doing this, I think I reached closer to 2,500, but I stopped counting after 1000.”

She then points out the biggest categories on the pie chart, which are ‘dumb/boring’ with 14.6% and ‘IDK/wouldn’t answer’ with 13.7%. Angelica then says she will remove these two categories so that “we can split up these broader categories into more fine points and see the real statistics.”

After having done that, Angelica then points out the two large sub-sections on the chart as “right wing” and “left wing” with 12% and 14% respectively. She then explains that these responses “very clearly go on one side or the other.”

Her findings are shocking (or maybe not)

Surprisingly enough, the biggest chunk of the chart comes in at 15%, being ‘pineapple on pizza.’ She seems stupefied at the fact that this occurred. Especially since ‘food’ was 9% already on its own. Angelica then points out how the other big slice (13%) was men who “started off with something overtly horrifyingly sexual.” She then names the smaller (less than 10%) parts, namely racism, misogyny, queerphobia, etc.

On a disappointing note, she observed only 4% of men having actual insightful answers. She explains this as, “Men who were really saying something that I felt like could further the conversation in a semi-intellectual way.”

Lastly, Angelica also measured how many men actually asked her a question in return. Unsurprisingly, only 39% did so. However, Angelica makes sure to mention that even in those 39%, she included days-later “how bout you?” meaning the margin is actually much smaller than it shows. Now, out of those 39% men, she mentions that only 22% of those asked a new question as opposed to a “hbu?” (78%). Angelica then ends the TikTok by saying, “The purpose of the experiment was to show women that they shouldn’t be afraid to ask men more hard-hitting questions.”

And the Audience is…Horrified?

With over 11,000 comments and counting, the clip is pulling opinions from all over. The most popular response? “I’m so sorry you spoke to that many men.”

Aside from the deep feeling of horror, other viewers were sad at the state of the 2025 dating scene. One viewer says, “So 40 out of 1000 were remotely qualified. Imma be single forever,” to which Angelica replies, “And that’s only based on a maximum exchange of like 4 messages.”

Another viewer says, “You could literally have a better conversation with a wall than any man on Tinder.”

Finally, one says, “Dating in 2025 is a hellscape. I’m happy that you deleted the app when it wasn’t fun for you anymore and appreciate the pie chart episode letting me know I’m not crazy and it just is that bad lol.”

@an9ele There was no way I would collect all this data and NOT make a couple of charts with it… #tinder #lesbian #lgbtqia #datingapp ♬ original sound – Angelica
