"You're not going to destroy me": Biden hits back at Trump Ukraine accusations

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden said during a speech in Reno, Nevada, Wednesday night that President Trump's remarks about him and his son during a phone call to Ukraine's leader were an "abuse of power."

"Let me make something clear to Mr. Trump and his hatchet men and the special interests funding his attacks against me — I'm not going anywhere. You're not going to destroy me. And you're not going to destroy my family."

The big picture: Bloomberg described Biden's speech in which he accused Trump of being a "bully" and "repeatedly smearing" him and his family as a "preview of a potential general election face-off" with the president.

  • The former vice president stepped up his criticism of Trump hours after the president unleashed on Democrats and journalists at a news conference during which he called the inquiry into his impeachment a "fraudulent crime on the American people."
