Nottingham Forest made 12 signings in a large summer overhaul.
That, plus the appointment of the relatively unknown Sabri Lamouchi, had Reds fans questioning what would lie ahead in the 2019/20 season.
As it turns out, it’s so far so good for Forest and Lamouchi.
The Frenchman has guided the Reds to within touching distance of the Sky Bet Championship automatic promotion places.
He brought in 12 players in the summer window, with some faring better than others.
Sammy Ameobi, Tiago Silva, Alfa Semedo, Yuri Ribeiro, Aro Muric, Albert Adomah, Rafa Mir, Samba Sow, Carl Jenkinson, Brice Samba, Chema Rodriguez and John Bostock have all had varying degrees of success.
But who has been Forest’s best addition?
Forest Twitter page @CityGroundHQ posed the question whether Sow topped the list, to which the midfielder replied: “Noo, @samba_brice”, referring to goalkeeper Brice Samba.
Not to sit back and take the acclaim, the stopper was keen to reflect it back onto his team mate.
“Noooo you’re crazy !! Look the statistics bro @sambsow,” he said.
Both will be hoping to maintain Forest’s promotion push on Saturday when Queens Park Rangers visit the City Ground on Saturday.
