Stephen Curry has kind of quietly resumed playing like an NBA MVP this season, but the quiet part of all that went away on Saturday night when he exploded for 57 points against the Dallas Mavericks.
…And it still wasn’t enough to beat Luka Doncic and his team.
Doncic answered Curry’s offensive masterpiece with his own eye-popping stat line: 42 points, 11 assists, and 7 rebounds.
This was two of the very best players alive going head to head in a Saturday night game, and featured everything you’d want from the two. You had Curry heat checks from the logo, you had Doncic seeing-eye passes and ridiculous drives — it was all just so good.
