You may have been frying eggs wrong your entire life - and chef tells of main mistake

A fry-up is one of the most beloved staples in Ireland with amateur chefs taking pride in what they can cook up for family, friends and more.

But do you make it correctly? Many people have different opinions on how to make their sausages or pudding or what type of egg would go best.

And one top chef says when opting for fried eggs, people make a lot of mistakes.

Chef Yasmeen AlSawwaf told Eat This Not That that one of the first big mistakes is cracking the egg straight onto the pan.

Instead you should be cracking the egg into the bowl and then putting it on the pan so the yolk doesn't break.

Non-stick pans are the next essential requirement, this ensure you avoid making a mess.

And lastly is the temperature, the perfect heat for frying eggs is between 123C to 137C.

She said: "Having high heat means that the eggs could brown and blister before being properly cooked in the centre.

"Fried eggs should be shiny and have fully set whites and shouldn't be blistered or browned, while the yolks should be properly cooked according to your preference."
