You'll never guess who co-wrote Taylor Swift's new single

If you look at the songwriting credits for Taylor Swift's new single Look What You Made Me Do, you'll see some surprising names: Richard Fairbrass, Fred Fairbrass and Rob Manzoli.

Not ringing any bells? They're the members of Right Said Fred … as in the British band behind I'm Too Sexy … as in the early 90s hit you wish we hadn't reminded you of because now it's going to be stuck in your head.

But Swift hasn't been holed up in a studio with the band, who are apparently still a thing. Instead, they're listed as writers on Look What You Made Me Do because the song uses an interpolation of I'm Too Sexy in the chorus.

It's not overly obvious, but once you're aware, you can't not hear the similarity (for better or worse).

And in case you're wondering, the song has the Right Said Fred tick of approval:

Look What You Made Me Do is the lead single from Swift's first album in three years, Reputation, which will be released on November 10.

Predictably, the internet got excited when the song dropped today, with some praising her new style — which at time sounds more like something you'd expect from Lorde — and others wishing she'd stuck to her old pop formula.

But fans were just as interested in what the song was about. The speculation is that it's a diss track, with one of the lyrics being "I got a list of names and yours is in red".

Specifically, people think she's having a go at Kanye West.

In 2008, West famously interrupted an acceptance speech Swift was giving to say he thought Beyonce should have won the award instead.

Last year, their feud was reignited (and expanded to include West's wife Kim Kardashian) when the rapper released a song with the line "I made that bitch famous".

Whatever Look What You Made Me Do is about, Swift's lyrics aren't subtle about the fact that she's trying to reinvent herself:

"The old Taylor can't come to the phone right now. Why? Oh, 'cos she's dead."
