Will Genia's post-match interview after Australia beat South Africa went south when the Wallabies legend completely misinterpreted what the reporter said.
In this week's Throwback Thursday segment, we take a look at the time Fox News reporter and former Australia star Rod Kafer got on the wrong end of rugby great Genia.
Let's turn back time: it's 2012 and Australia skipper David Pocock is injured, leaving Genia to sport the captain's armband against the Springboks in The Rugby Championship.
Genia ended up rupturing a ligament in his knee during the match, and was carried off the field. His side ended up securing a 26-19 victory, and it was clear emotions were still running high for the stand-in skipper during the post-match interview when Kafer started his questioning.
"I'm here with a little bit sore, but a happy, relieved Will Genia. For you personally, not a great night, but a good night for the team," said Kafer.
"For me personally?" responded Genia. "Are you having a crack at me there? Mate, it's not about any individuals, it's about the group, mate. So very happy with the performance, but I was happy with my contribution so..."
"I was talking about the knee, mate. The knee, it's in ice now, you said it was bad, you heard it go?" responded Kafer as Genia smiled.
The interview continued as normal and at the end of Kafer's questioning, Genia took the opportunity to apologise.
"Thanks, mate, and I apologise, I thought you were having a crack at me there! Cheers," Genia replied.
