You fans convinced they've spotted major Marianne clue in season three ending

You fans are convinced they've spotted a major clue as to what to expect in season four.

Season three of the psychological thriller saw serial killer Joe Goldberg (played by Penn Badgley) attempting to change his ways to avoid his son turning into someone like him.

The end of season two saw Joe primed to kill his seemingly perfect girlfriend Love Quinn (played by Victoria Pedretti) after it was revealed that she murdered his ex Candace Stone (Ambyr Childers) and investigative journalist Delilah Alves (Carmela Zumbado) in a shocking twist.

But news that she was pregnant with his child, prompted the couple to move to a new town to raise their child.

The couple promised to start a fresh and leave their troubled pasts behind them, but not all was plain sailing.

It wasn't long before Joe was back to his old tricks though as his head was turned by resident of Madre Linda, librarian Marianne (Tati Gabrielle).

Love was poised to kill Marianne, until she discovered she had a young daughter. Instead, she warned her that Joe was dangerous, causing her to leave town.

This resulted in Joe and Love having a lethal fight where he ended up stabbing her in the heart with an injection.

The final scenes of the episode saw Joe flee to Paris in the hopes of finding Marianne in her hometown.

Now some eagle-eyed fans are convinced they spotted her as Joe was seen walking the streets of Paris.

Just as Joe crosses the street outside a cafe, a woman, who looks like Marianne, zooms past him on a moped.

Fans took to Reddit to discuss the possibility, with a few people saying "it would be too easy for it to be her."

On Reddit, one viewer quizzed: "Is this Marianne behind him on the moped?"

They continued: "This part of the scene does move in slow motion and as soon as that moped passes it resumes full speed.

"I’m not saying it is her, but it seems like it’d be an interesting Easter egg."

"Interesting…" agreed a second viewer, while a third said: "Good eye."

Others were less convinced, as one person wrote: "It would be too easy for it to be her."

But Tati has her own hopes for the character, as she told Marie Claire : "I would just want her to find the peace she's been seeking; be able to do art and let her kid have the most free and lovely life. I feel like she would be an art teacher or a commissioned artist."
