'You don't decide how I do an interview' - Piers Morgan snaps at Health Secretary Matt Hancock

Piers Morgan has not been shy when it comes to his interview technique of late.

And on today's Good Morning Britain it was another opportunity for the controversial host to grill Matt Hancock.

The Health Secretary was asked about the UK's current lockdown measures, PPE and whether the country could have been better prepared for the coronavirus crisis.

But things soon turned a bit heated when Mr Hancock fumed at not being able to answer the question's directed at him by Piers.

"I'm going to answer the previous question and then that question and you're not going to interrupt me. Let me speak," he said during the video call.

This prompted the ITV presenter to respond: "Okay, you don't actually run this show but I will let you answer the questions. Go on."

The health secretary argued: "You've just interrupted me again', before Piers snapped: "You don’t decide how I do an interview, but off you go."

Mr Hancock then tried again and said: "Right, I will answer these questions and if you interrupt me again, I will just keep talking so don’t. Thank you."

He did go on to say in response: "This is a new virus with a different impact. For instance, PPE, one of the things we didn’t have previously was gowns, not aprons.

"In terms of testing, we were one of the first countries in the world to develop a test, there were 2,000 at the start of March and 10,000 at the end of March."

It comes as the government is set to formally announce its decision on its lockdown extension today, three weeks after the initial measures were put in place.

The confirmation of a further three weeks would see the next review take place around May 7.

However Mr Hancock has warned that it's 'unlikely' things will return to exactly as they were in the short term.
